Since its foundation in 1970, the company has earned a reputation for the delivery of quality projects on time and within budget to the construction, development and civil engineering sector. The Moriarty family has grown the business organically over the last 40 years in North County Kerry now achieving a turnover of close to €20m. The company has completed over fifteen major infrastructural contracts for the Department of the Environment within the last ten years.
When Denis Moriarty set up the plant hire, construction and civil engineering group he saw that the requirements for high quality construction and civil engineering product and services was in demand to satisfy the growing infrastructural need precipitated by both the structural funds and the Government national development programmes.
After 2003 the company has concentrated on civil engineering projects and investing in research & development on future trends in the construction and civil engineering sector. This has led the company to become a top supplier to the Wind Industry in Ireland with 20% of the countries capacity installed by Moriarty.
The company is well placed to take advantage of a number of growth areas including its specialist expertise in the areas of wind energy and environmental infrastructure projects. The owners and senior management have guided the development of the business from a construction family company in the 1970's to being a leading supplier of quality construction and engineering projects in the Munster region with operations nationwide.
Colin Scott, the general manager, comes from a background in civil engineering with experience in both construction and civils. He is with the company for twenty years and has been general manager for the past ten years. Colin has extensive knowledge of heavy civil engineering and has been centrally involved in developing their Wind Farm business.
